With File Explorer in W10 … how can you order the listing of files in, say, the Downloads folder to show them by date, with the most recent on top, ..... as I could do with XP?

As someone new to W10 I have dozens of such basic questions. Is there a particular HELP URL that I should be consulting that might answer many of these questions? Thanks. ... batpark

Hi,

  • Click the drop-down arrow in the right top right of the window to open the quick access ribbon:

  • Open the "View" tab.
  • Under "Layout" select "Details".
  • Under "Current View", select "Sort by" and choose "Date".

In Details view, simply click the Date modified column header. One click sorts it one way, click again and it sorts it the other.
