I just finished setting up a new wireless router using the quick internet setup (QIS). Everything is working fine, but i'm unable to access the router's interface. When i enter the router's ip address into my browser it takes me to my modem log-in window. nothing in the "quick start guide" or the "users manual" addresses this problem. Any suggestions?

asus rt-n66w dual band 3x3. I discovered the quick start guide had the wrong ip address listed, i was able to log in to the interface using the correct one, but i've now got another problem. After creating a user name & password i logged out, but now i'm unable to log back in, invalid username or password. Never had problems like this with my old outdated router.

There's usually a reset button or pin hole on the back of the router.  You usually hold it down for 10 seconds then it goes back to the factory defaults and forgets your passwords.

You're correct, there is a small reset button on the back, l'll download the pdf owners manual & see if there's more info there. thanks
