Hi, I have a Pavilion g6 64bit laptop running win10. Recently it has stopped connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi but still works ok via ethernet cable. I have tried several 'fixes' some at the following link if you care to look:

http://windowsreport...s-10-error-651/

Nothing I have tried so far seems to work. The first thing I tried of course was system restore using two different restore points with no result. When clicking on the internet connection icon on the task bar I see 'not connected connections are available'. I see other service providers but mine is not listed.

I have also turned off the router and restarted after 15 mins.

I have seen the ads for the repair tool but don't really want to spend money. I tried a new connection and the error 797 came up. I presume it is a registry problem but have no idea where to look.
At this point I don't know what other details are may be needed so I will wait for a response.

Thanks.

If it's also missing on another device, then the problem is with your "service provider", not your "Pavilion g6".

HI, Thanks for that, it did cross my mind but I didn't check. I suppose I was thinking it would be more complicated. Anyway it's all sorted.
