Well,my problem is kinda funny.

I lived with my family. And my problem is my big sis. She always download her stuff using IDM(Internet Download Manager). I knew that thing is taking all of my connection.All I can do is stop that software (Manually) by accessing to her laptop(When she's no home). I am trying to figure out how to limit her laptop speed or I just restart the wi-fi,but still it only back to normal for like 5 seconds then it slow. I am using cable internet while she is wireless. So basically you know what I mean right ?

your not changing the bandwidth, what your wanting to do is managing it, so no single device hogs it all and thus slows down to a crawl any other device connected to the router.

now how good your router can do this depends on the router and it's options, some can do it very well and some might offer no options or very limited options.

 

the setting your looking to use is called QoS (quality of service.)

your not changing the bandwidth, what your wanting to do is managing it, so no single device hogs it all and thus slows down to a crawl any other device connected to the router.

now how good your router can do this depends on the router and it's options, some can do it very well and some might offer no options or very limited options.

 

the setting your looking to use is called QoS (quality of service.)
