I have an SD card that according to "Finder" has nothing on it. However, I downloaded a few APPS that revealed all the corrupt files(but I can fix those) that are still there..I just don't want to pay $50 to get them back.
1) Is there a TRULY free App that will not only detect - BUT RESTORE the files - for free?
2) Is there a way to achieve the same results by finding the files in terminal?
My daughter was trying to import into iPhoto from her SD card. In the middle of the transfer, or during the "delete from card" process..she pulled out the card...which somehow corrupted the video files. The photos oddly enough remained intact..
Now when it's put into finder, it shows the folders, but says there are no files. You'll see my attachment...there are a few HUNDRED files but I can't get the dang finder to recognize them.
I used a program called GRAU which I took 1 file into - and then you provide it with a "like" file from the same device, and VOILA the video appeared...but here's the catch..it will only give you 50% of the data.
Being smarter than the average bear, I took that file into TERMINAL and merged it - with the same file - essentially doubling it's length...so the 50% is really 100% - make sense?
So my challenge now is...getting the REST of the files off that SD card since the program I used - would only give me 2 MB (which equates to 17 files....and there are like 254)
Once I have those..I can take them into GRAU and at least recover the video portion.
SO - back to my original question, is there a command in terminal that will essentially find the files for me?e
I have tried rebooting, then placing the SD card in - no luck
I've installed and run ONYX- did Automation - No luck
