Hi to all! I have a very strange problem i have searched the internet but haven't fount any solution yet. The video effects of windows movie maker excist but don't play. Also when i do right click on them the choice to play the clip isn't available. I have reinstalled the movie maker from xp cd but still the same! Also the video samples of program "AVS Video Editor" that were working in past now they don't play too. I have windows xp sp3 have uninstalled and reinstalled all codecs but nothing. All the other things work well on the computer. Is there anything else i can try to make them work?

I understand your WMM effects don't work properly (I'm guessing you can add the effects, but screen goes black?). 

 

Did it ever work properly?  If so, did anything change between when it worked and when you first noticed the problem?  (hardware/software install, driver update, etc?)

 

Are you sure your video driver is up to date?

Yes the preview window stays black and the lav codec icons are flickering at bottom of screen. If i disable all plugins the option to play click becomes available but it gives unknown error. I think it's something wrong with the codecs i have to find any way or program to remove them all from the system and restore the default plugins. The graphic card drivers are installed and have no problem!

 Finally solved! Don't know what fixed it exactly i installed again directx9 (i had 10) uninstalled all codec packs and installed again only latest k-lite codecs and at movie maker i checked all plugins including the k-lite plugins and it worked
