I attempted to download a program at the bah4ever.com site. When I started downloading I checked my Antivirus software Symantec, and realized right away it was disabled and shut down. I immediately tried to stop the download but didnt succeed. I shut down my computer and internet connection. Restarted in safe mode with no internet. Did Adaware scan, spybot scan and then antivirus scan. Nothing showed up in any of the scans.

Since then my computer is racing like a running man. My mouse (microsoft intellipoint 4.0 is lit up and just with a slight move it generates sometimes high cpu's, and drags and locks. I unloaded my firefox browser and java, cleaned files out completely and reloaded a clean install of firefox. Since clean install firefox has crashed just about every session with alot of friction and major stalling. My blinker on my mouse is radical, and somethings dont come out right . like for instance I was typing a email and it jumped all over the place and lagged about 3 charecters behind what I was typing. I have ran all scans, did all you suggested in pre HiJack. clean up, adaware, spybot, cwshedder , ms update which did the 1st update since april, and also again ran symntec after downloading the most recent virus updates.

I did notice during a look at running programs, the AUPDATE.EXE running, never had seen it before so I did some checking on it. Im not sure about it so I changed nothing or deleted nothing. Here is my HIJACK FILE.

Thank you so much, Dar

ps. Im not sure but I may be having mouse troubles, but wanted to check if that was the case or a trojan. thank you again

Nothing here.

Try this:
http://www.microsoft...d/Download.mspx
Download the latest driver for your current mouse.

If it doesn't help:
See if someone around you has a mouse that can stay over for a short while. If that solves the problem, buy a new one.

or

let me know and we will do additional tests. I don't like the popup side of this story.

I only have a very old and rusty bicycle.

I'm not sure what it is.

* Please rightclick this link to download Silent Runners.
* Save it to the desktop.
* Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
* You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done yet, just let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
* Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click on the new text file on the desktop and copy that entire log and paste it here.

*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.
For some time it will look like nothing is happening. Just keep waiting.
Once it's done it will create a log. A window will come up telling you when it's saved.

If it won’t run:
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
In the command prompt use this command:

assoc .vbs=VBSFile Note the space behind assoc

That should get Silentrunners on the way.

Post me the entire log it creates.

I have it. I also asked my collegues to have a look. If they need to see it now, they'll know where to get it.

Here's a suggestion on the mouse thing Metallica gave me:
Check the settings in your Control panel > Mouse > Wheel tab
Set the lines per move to 3 or thereabouts.

Is this helping or are your hairs still standing up?

--------

You can remove this entrie using HijackThis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IntelliPoint] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliPoint\point32.exe"

You will still be able to point and click.

Please let me know how things are after reboot. If the problem is still there, tell me!

We think it's more hardware related now (bad wiring). I'm sorry I cannot help you with that.

Please have your CPU (box) checked by a technician.
