Hi all
This is my first post here but have used the forum to browse for many years. I've found it holds a wealth of info and has been very helpful, hence my post today. I hope its in the right forum and someone can give me an opinion or advice
I work in an office where about 15 members of staff work at some point during the day over 24 hours. Now I was on a night shift on Saturday (crossing over into Sunday). Following my return to work today, I've heard that the system crashed at 01:30am Monday. Now my boss has pulled myself and my colleague aside (as we both have keen interests in programming. I myself have just started a computing and IT honours degree) as the IT guy at work likes to think he is perfect and says that one of us must be messing with the system. andis asking why i bring my laptop in on a nightshift. Obviously thinking that I mess with the system.
Can a system crash 24 hours later after messing with a system software?
Seeing as it was just kicking my colleagues off the system who were on shift that night then 20 minutes later it was fine, if I had messed with the system, surely it wouldn't just fix itself??
I'm just worried as I'm quite new in this job and have a meeting with the manager about this issue and can't afford a red mark by my name so want to prove that I haven't done anything.
Thanks in advance for any reply
