I recently purchsed a laptop with touch screen. It is the HP Ultima.

I can't seem to download any files for my printer, mouse even my tax forms that I did at a tax site ( it says I have a problem downloading a pdf file even though I was able to get and print the PDF forms from the IRS site). When I click on the download site ( almost any) It looks like it may download then nothing, not even a notice about why the download doesn't stick. I deactivated the pop up blocker so thats not it. I am using windows 10 with the edge search engine. I tried with internet explorer but I get the same results. Please help I am at a loss. I am sure i have enough space ( at 32g I have only used about 12g.

ANY NEW SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELFUL.

:welcome:   slsmotown,

Can you tell us what anti virus and Firewall protection you are using.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here,  this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

ANY NEW SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELFUL.

If you let us know what you have already tried it will avoid us suggesting the same thing/s

I can't even download speccy. It looks like it is going to download then it stops and nothing. I am running whatever firewall and antivirus that came with the laptop.

I went to download a PDF file from the IRS website and it saaid can't download PDF form but if I email myself the file I can open it so I know it can open PDF files. If I try to download adobe acrobat it looks like it is downloading but then stps and nothing, no warning no nothing. I have even deactivated the firewall and still can't get anything to download. Any setting I can go to that may correct this.

That does suggest a security measure of sorts locking you out  :(

Not heard back from you slsmotown, do you still require assistance or is the issue now resolved, an update would be appreciated.

I am logged in as administrator. Sorry for the delay in response but I sorta just gave up. I am operating Windows 10 and have windows defender in place but no additional security, just what came with the computer. I can down load apps from the windows store but almost everything else in not downloadable. every time I try it looks like the download starts but then stops and then nothing. No warning or notice. I have tried turning off firewall and everything else I thought would maybe the cause but still no improvement. My search engine is bing and the browser is edge. If I try to use internet explorer, it comes up but will not fully load.

To see if this is a Windows issue download then run the All in One Repair from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.
