Apologies if this question has been asked before, or is being asked in the wrong forum.  Haven't cracked the site-only search function yet.

I have just purchased a Bose Sounddock III for my partner.  Unfortunately it has a Lightning socket while her iPod Classic has an old-style 30-wire socket.  Advice from my local Apple shop is that there is a 30-wire to Lightning adapter (which would permit, say, an old-style charger to charge a Lightning phone) but not one the other way, which would permit my partner to play her iPod music through the Sounddock.

Is there a solution to this problem (preferably a tidy one that won't leave the area in front of the Sounddock a mass of cables) or does the Sounddock have to go back to the retailer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is a Lightning to 30-Pin adapter and a 30-Pin to Lightning adapter. One of these two should suite your needs.

Sorry for the delayed response: real life got in the way.  The first looks like exactly what I am looking for and is even in my preferred colour.  I have therefore ordered one from the US.  From customer comments the chances of it actually working when I get it seem only about 50:50.  I will report back when i have tried it and only then mark this problem as solved.

But thank you for your trouble in finding this for me.  One would have thought there'd be a much greater demand for them.

Long time, no speak!  To provide closure on the story, I received the adapter from a vendor in the US.  It did not work in any way shape or form.  Other purchasers seemed to have had the same experience.  I returned the item for a refund.  Problem remains unsolved.
