June 11, the computer starts getting pop-ups like crazy.
Even with DSL unplugged, its looking for a web site to receive a popup but the 'page can't be displayed' message comes up. I start to receive many 'application error' notifications but if I keep retrying to open them they will eventually start. My Norton 2005 Antivirus found and removed several viruses upon a manual scan. But soon it wouldn't respond to my request During the next reboot and with all reboots thereafter 'application error' notices must be acknowledged. One day the printer disappears, and not from my table, although ghost would be easier to deal with than whatever the heck is going on with my PC. After researching and reading a little, I figure out how to find the print spool and start it, even though it is set on automatic start.
When I open in SAFE mode there are no issues.
I discover your site and visit the maleware page. At some point I uninstall NAV 05 and install Ewido. I followed the instructions on the maleware page, needing to run application installations multiple times before some programs would take hold. Even windows updates took multiple attempts. I never could run housecall virus scan.
I also ran PANDA active scan which found 4 adware programs that it couldn't remove/clean.
I ran PC-cillin and nothing was discovered.
Any help would be wonderful.
