hello there,

I just had a virus which was removed eventually by using Microsoft antispyware, however this had the effect of preventing Internet Explorer from working, so to solve this i updated my Internet explorer, for the correct service pack, at Microsoft, and now on restart my desktop background comes up, but nothing else, as explorer.exe fails to work. i was lucky enough to install mozilla firefox so through task manager i could get on to the internet to see if there is a way to solve this.

i tried to run explorer.exe manually thro task manager but it doesnt work and it cant find the file. Is there a way to solve this, possibly going to microsoft and downloading another update or file? or using system restore? but i dont know how to get that just through task manager

thought i should ask before my comp gets more messed up!!

please help!!

twig

ps. by the way im using Windows XP professional SP1
