Hi and thanks for any and all help here. ok my PC took a dump. I was running a gigabyte GA-p35c-ds3r mobo , and a Geforce 6800 graphics card. this card went south and PC shuts off as soon as it is turned on.  take out the card pc stays on.

I picked up a Geforce GT 710 2gig ddr3 card. put it in the mobo nothing shows,so now I found a gigabyte GA-p35-ds3r FSB 1333.

the new card works sorta on the new mobo. It wont install driver from nvida.

P35c say it uses both ddr2 and ddr3. I had ddr2 ram card is ddr3.. I know that you can't mix them on the board not sure about board to card.

P35 only has slots for ddr2 so is the ddr3 graphics card the issue?

No, The MB memory is not effected by the GPU memory and visa versa.

It sounds like the p35c- MB graphics card slot may have a problem.   Have you tried the Geforce 6800 in the p35- MB?
