I get a lot of .exe bad image errors that pop up regarding  .dll

I tried to run sfc /scannow and it couldn't fix some issues.

Seems like a lot of stuff is running in 32bit mode when min is 64 bit

I can't run windows updater

 

I have ran "trend housecall" in safe mode  -  didn't find anything

I ran malware bytes - didn't find anything

 

I ran a program i got on here called "OTL" and it came back with a big log. I have no idea if it has something bad or not. Yes i did read the tutorial didn't do me any good.

 

system restore does not work

 

I really need some help

Hi wildcheckenrabbit and welcome to our forums.

 

 

Sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing.

 

On first thoughts it seems that your operating system (Win 7) is badly damaged and creating the symptoms you describe

 

1 The initial step must be for you to check carefully all your back ups, including disc or system images, and make sure that all your important files and information are copied safely to removable and or other media (several copies are recommended) and with at least one copy kept safe offsite on removable media. If you find any deficiencies in your back ups then now is a good time to remedy them. Some folks can sometimes let everyday pressures get in the way of keeping their back ups fully and completely up to date. If this has happened to you then its recommended you fix it now!

 

2 Next step is to make sure that you have to hand your Microsoft Win 7 installation disc and also your application installation discs (ie Microsoft Office, Photo enhancer etc etc. If you have not made a System disc image using the normal Windows tools or even a Repair disc then now is a good time to put that right. We hope to be able to help you repair your computer without having to reinstall your operating system, but if the worst comes to the worst then at least you will be properly prepared.

 

 

3 The symptoms you describe point towards  Windows operating/software problem(s) however we need to check if that is the case or if there is a hardware problem, that no amount of software tools will be able to fix. we can test a great deal of your hardware by one simple test.... here's how;

 

4 Download and install a live distro of Linux ( Puppy is good and a relatively small download) it's not much more than 100 Mb or so. Burn the downloaded .iso to a CD (burn it as an image, (as simple copy won't work) and boot from it (you may need to enter your BIOS and adjust the boot priority to CD/DVD as priority 1 and hard drive0 as priority 2) remember to save the changes and exit with the Puppy CD in the tray and your computer should boot into Puppy by passing Windows completely. Puppy will run entirely within RAM and not write anything to your hard drive (unless you ask it to)

 

5 Give Puppy a good test, open a few of your photos and see if everything works Ok ( if you test the Internet make sure you are using an Ethernet (wired connection ) rather than wireless..... if you find that Puppy works well then we have eliminated faults in a large part of your hardware as the likely suspects for the problems.

 

6 If Puppy works well and without any of the problems you have experienced with using Windows then the next step will be to check your hard drive for potential faults.

 

Post back with your findings and we will advise the next steps... using Puppy is slightly different from using Windows, but it's easy to pick up (only one click needed to open stuff) If you need a detailed set of directions for any particular part of this post back with the area that you need further information on and we will do our best to send them to you.

 

When you have finished your testing remove the Puppy CD from your drive, restart your computer and you will be back with windows again.

Some questions if I may;

 

Are the dll errors related to Windows or third party software such as games etc.

 

Do you have a Windows 7 or system restore disk.

 

Does Windows crash at all, if yes, does it crash when connecting or connected to the internet.

This is not unusual, 64-bit Windows can and regularly does run 32-bit software as it has the capability to do so, the alternative of trying to run 64-bit software with a 32-bit OS does not fly too well as the 32-bit software does not have the same resources as the 64-bit.
