I have just moved in to a furnished room in someone's house with WiFi included and have security concerns regarding the internet data transmitted on my laptop/phone on a shared connection.

I know about firewalls and stuff, but not sure what exactly to do on both, phone and the laptop? I'd like a free solution if possible.

Thank you!
