Why don't Google listings show the date of the cited site?

Can someone please tell me why Google does not show the <date> of an entry? For example, the site I got for this hit on "senate seniority" looked fine:

For somo Important Republican Senators havo been trying to bring about an agreement among the leaders to announce the same issue. Tho Republicans aro ...


 But when I click on it, I learn that it is from 1922!


There must be a reason why Google doesn't show <dates>. What is it? Thanks.  .................... wdc
