Wow, this is the most problematic malware ever! Finally found IE11, uninstalled it had already downloaded the new one, rebooted started new install. Window pops up says: Internet Explorer did not finish installing...what next?

As I say I do not think this is malware as additional tabs opening would go to ads and not your home page

Could you run windows updates please, reboot the computer first

I just received your reply, clicked on it and noticed it opened in IE10. I don't know if it's stable yet as the pop-ups sometimes go away for awhile only to come back. So...should I keep it, hold off on the updates or do updates back to IE11...Jay

The nightmare continues! I removed IE11, downloaded WIN7/64bit upgrades, it won't install IE11, stays with IE10 and now opens several IE10 with 7 tabs each (the 7 sites I monitor)? If not malware what is it?

Your home page is only set to one site is that correct ?

At the moment I have no idea as this is something very unusual

Download AVP tool from Here

1.Run the program.
2.Click change parameters and ensure system drive is selected , OK out and then press scan

3.Wait until the scan is complete.
4.If any threats are detected during the scan, a notification with a request for action will be displayed.

5.If the infection is active then you will be offered a delete on reboot

6.To view the scan details, click the details link.

7.To exit Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool 2015, click the Close button or the cross button in the upper-right corner of the utility window.

Yes, only (1) homepage. However I do have IE11, Chrome and Mozilla. I'll try the latest scan bit If this doesn't change anything can I reload Windows without losing all my files or will it want to format the entire drive?

You can run a repair install which just updates all windows files..  Or you could upgrade to windows 10, again this will retain your files

Well, I appreciate all the help and will be donating to the cause but not much has changed. It won't let me load IE11 but I do have IE10 opening randomly still. I don't know if you've exhausted the fix attempts but if you have I guess I'll try reloading/repairing Win7 this weekend...Jay

This is something that I have never come across before as there are no unusual destinations for the extra tabs, just duplicates of those already open.

Definitely not the behaviour of malware

To do a refresh install see this page http://www.sevenforu...ir-install.htmlthis will retain your files
If you need a windows 7 disc 'cos you do not have one then go here https://www.microsof...wnload/windows7
