I will pay for quality help in using testdisk to recreate partition boot record.

can you tell us a bit more about your problem, like how the "partition boot record" got corrupted/broken, what things you've done to try and fix the problem and how you figured out your problem is the volume boot record anyway?

 

also have you rescued any needed files from the drive first before trying to fix things, if not i'd recommend you do that first, maybe make a clone of the drive before starting to try and fix it.

 

by the way i'm not an "expert" and the help received here is totally free, but you can probably make a site donation if you like.

 

here's a link showing how to use testdisk to replace the ntfs boot sector from the backup but if the backup is also bad then you'll need to try and rebuild it but if that doesn't work then i'm afraid i really don't know what else you can do except format the drive and start fresh and why i suggest the first thing you do is backup everything you can first.

Terry1966, the pc is a dual boot win7 device. 1. Partition; system reserved 100mb

2nd partition; 800gb unbootable 64bit win7, 3rd partition; 100gb bootable win7-32.

remember i'm no expert but will try my best to help with my very limited experience.

in the first screenshot instead of trying to rebuild the boot sector of the 2nd partition (which is the one you need to fix.), select backup boot sector to restore the bs from the backup which according to that is good and once done reboot pc and see if things are better now..

 

 

NTFS Boot sector recovery

The boot sector of the first partition named Partition 1 is still damaged. It's time to fix it. The status of the NTFS boot sector is bad and the backup boot sector is valid. Boot sectors are not identical.

• To copy the backup of the boot sector over the boot sector, select Backup BS, validate with Enter, use y to confirm and next OK.

More information about repairing your boot sector under TestDisk Menu Items. The following message is displayed:

The boot sector and its backup are now both OK and identical: the NTFS boot sector has been successfully recovered.

• Press Enter to quit.

• TestDisk displays You have to restart your Computer to access your data so press Enter a last time and reboot your computer.
