HP is getting lazy.  Nothing but the original drivers on their page.  I think the policy is now to let windows update provide new drivers.  Unfortunately new drivers fall under Optional so you have to tell windows to install it.  If you can get Windows Updates to run without it crashing you might be able to find some new drivers.  Control Panel, Windows Updates, Check for Updates (It may already have some,  If you see   x Optional Updates are available, where x is some number then click on it and look for drivers to select and install.

 

Alternatively you can try and get NVIDIA Smart Scan  to work.  It should offer you any updates you need:

Wow I did this and got into a totally new problem. I use Chrome and evidently it doesn't support Java anymore. I can't check for updates without Java being updated and when I try to download the windows update for Nvidia it says "WindowsUpdate_80070103" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" failed update.

True.  Chrome doesn't support Java any more.  Assuming you still have Java installed can you use IE or Firefox to go to Nvidia's site?

Sorry I missed your reply.

 

Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and Run as Administrator,OK.  Type with an Enter after the line.

verifier.exe  /all

This will cause it to blue screen when it hits a bad driver.  You can use BlueScreenView or Who Crashed to see what caused the problem or if you go in to Control Panel , System, Advanced System Settings, Startup and Recovery Settings, uncheck Automnatic Restart under System Failure OK.  It will stop and let you read the bluescreen.  Sometimes that tells you the .sys file that caused the problem.
