I dunno exactly but some motherboard problem

I have one P4 2.66ghz with 1gb ram and 128mb ati graphics card desktop installed back home but the problem is that when it is started then it takes around 5 or more minutes to set up and somethimes while working it always hangs up...i asked one computer tech. over there to reinstall all the motherboard drivers and all...im [bleep] sure that it was installed with all the latest anti virus,adwares ,firewall softwares and it was a fast PC but the computer tech. asked me that my motherboard need to be changed...can anyone plz help me out...whether i should go for a new one...or what..?? :tazz:
