CD drive problems

Both my CD drives have stopped working (standard and CD/RW). They were working fine, but now when i insert a CD the computer tries to read it ubt will not recognise that a CD is there. This is the case for blank CDs and normal ones. I have checked and the computer is recognising both drives and they're meant to be working.

Can anyone help please!

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. Both devices show up in device manager, and no yellow ! next to them? They were both working and then suddenly both stopped? Did you make any changes to your system or download/install any software just prior to the start of the problem?
