I "upgraded" to W10 maybe a year ago. All has been fine.

Today my screen went blank, gave this error message, and rebooted.

Searching says it is a display adaptor being out of date, but it worked fine for a year.

I tried updating the drive, but it claims it is current.

I looked and can't find a W10 driver.

The driver is for an Intel G33/G31, 8.15.10.2697

Smelling like a hardware failure to me.  Time to get a new computer or can this puppy be saved?

Thanks much.

Gday Tollerowner.

Think ytou are going to be out of luck.

According to Intel, support for the 3 series chipsets ended with Windows 7.
Only the 4 series (G41/G43/G45/Q43/Q45) and newer get Windows 8 drivers.

Many have the same issue, works OK at first, then just stops working.   The Update Adviser flags the Chipset as a possible issue.

You could try.

Last known Good.

System restore.

Uninstall the driver, then try windows update.

If it is only the display not working??? research keeping the PC going by installing a discrete GPU, something like the GTX 750ti, drawing power from the PCI-E slot, so no worries about upgrading the PSU.

This problem started just after I switched from Firefox to Edge.  There were some things I didn't like about Edge, so I switched back.

I haven't had an error message in 5 days, while I was getting two a day on Edge.

Is this just a coincidence or could Edge actually have been causing the errors? (well, edge running on an obsolete chipset...)

Could very well be another Bug but have not come across it reported elsewhere.

Have you checked the driver in device manager and the date installed?

Is the computer running OK?

The driver is the most current.  The computer has not crashed in a week on Firefox (and not for a year when it was on Firefox and W10 before) while it crashed twice a day for the week it was on Edge.

One other complication....  it was running dosbox when it crashed with Edge.  But it frequently ran dosbox okay with Firefox.  Maybe dosbox and edge don't get along; rather than Edge and series 3 chipsets not getting along?

I don't know much about DOSbox, so unable to give you actual instructions.   Info on the second entry of linked page, see if there are any solutions posted.
