Speccy is still showing the presence of Avast, namely AvastVBox COM Service, please try manually deleting this;

 

Open a command prompt. (Run a command prompt as Administrator in Windows vista/7/8) 

 

Copy/paste sc delete AvastVBoxSvc

 

Press Enter/Close the command prompt.

Have you removed the Avast software and downloaded Chrome as suggested dustypink.

 

 

If Defender detects any trace of Avast or any other AV software it will disable itself, did you follow the removal procedure as advised.

 

Chrome is a much better and faster browser than IE which to be quite honest is lame and especially if also lumbered with Bing.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.
Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options:

• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply.

Looks like you may have a couple of issues going on here, one I can help you with and one that we will need to ask for help from the security experts over on the Malware Removal Forums.

Check that you have the latest version of IE 11, downloads here

 

Create a new restore point, download and then run the Intel® Driver Update Utility from here to see if it recommends any updates for the chipset or graphics drivers, if yes, download, install and test.

 

When you post back with an update can you also let us know if your version of Spybot - Search & Destroy is the paid for or free version and if free from where it was downloaded.

This should bring up the Services Window.

 

Scroll down to Windows Defender

 

Right click and Properties.  Verify the Startup Type: is set to Automatic (Delayed Start)  if not change it and Apply.  Then Start the service.  Does it start or do you get an error message?

Did you try clicking on the Start tab and then the OK tab.

 

Check that you have the latest version of IE 11, downloads here

 

 

Did you check your version of IE.

Download then run the Windows All in One Repair (free)  from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.

 

Just so that you are aware, RKinner has been helping me with this and if the Windows AIO tool does not correct the issue your thread may need to be moved to the Malware Removal Forums where he can use tools only available on those forums, hopefully that will not be necessary though.

The repair tool should be allowed to run until completion unless something trips it up.

 

I still suggest that you try installing Chrome and use that as your browser, it will at least rule IE and Bing in or out as the cause of your present browser problems.
