After removing a whole load of crap from my system the pop-ups finally stopped coming up. However, I still have a problem. After my computer has been on for about 20 mins or so my ip blocker (protowall) goes crazy blocking the same ip over and over again. Then my computer goes really slow and starts to overheat. When I look in Task Manager there is a listing (sometimes multiple) for 'iexplore.exe' even though I don't have any internet explorer windows open.
(Another thing i noticed was an entry for 'system32.exe' under the startup tab in MSconfig. This seems to have dissapeared for now.)
I am really at a loss, I have no idea how to fix this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
