F10 doesn't seem to do anything on startup, neither tapping nor holding down.

The only thing that works is holding the assist button to power on. It then goes to a white vaio care (rescue mode) screen with various bios and startup options

Just tried the DVD on the older working laptop and received the "press any key to boot from disk" message

Please confirm whether or not you still get the same message on the computer that has issues.

You keep missing answering this question for some reason mackemmatt.

No problem and thanks for confirming

Not seen the QEMU Simple Boot software suggested by FreeBooter but it does look worth giving it a go at checking your ISO out.

Not sure if i've done this correctly but I downloaded QEMU simple boot, added the ISO from my hard drive and ran the test to receive the pop up below. Do I need to adust the ram size or have I not created the ISO correctly?

Increasing the ram size to 512mb gave this screen

Does this suggest the ISO is functioning correctly?
