Do I have a SDHC reader on my computer?

I have an older computer; not really sure how old, but certainly more than 6 years.

I took a 4GB SDHC card and moved 1.5gb of data to it. The data works normally. On "properties" it shows 1.5gb used, and 2.3gb available.

Does this mean that I have a SDHC reader, or not.

(The 4GB is from my camera, and I have had it in my computer dozens of times)

If not, is there anyway I can be certain?

The reason I ask... I bought a Navigation card for my Mazda. It requires a SDHC reader. The card worked in my car, but then got corrupted when i tried to make a backup copy. It seems to me that if there was anything incompatible, then it just shouldn't have been able to read it; it shouldn't have written anything to the card.

Just wanting to determine if I did something wrong, or if it is just a bad card.
