I am getting a new motherboard today. I contacted Microsoft and they said I can use my OEM on the new motherboard. Now, my question is...when I do install the new motherboard, CPU and RAM I am getting today, do I just plug and play or do I need to wipe my HDD and reinstall, do I repair Windows, etc?

Thank you!

Hi,

Is the motherboard a replacement with the same brand and model?

In that case its possible that the installed Windows fail to boot on the new mother, a fresh install is safer.

If possible try to boot into safe mode first.
