Hi,

I plugged in my 320GB Seagate (Freeagent) drive into my MAC air and accessed the folder that has all my saved pics. The pics were cast on the TV using Instacast for a few hours.

Since the last eject, I am unable to view the same folder on my mac machine. The info shows 0KB data and no files.

When I tried pluggin the same drive in a windows laptop, it says the particular folder is inaccessible and unreadable.

Please note that all the other folders within the drive are easily accessible and show no problems at all.

I cannot afford to lose the data in this drive. Request you to please lead me out of this mess.

<Keeping my fingers crossed that someone would be able to help me retrieve my data>

Regards

Hello,

It seems that your folder got corrupted. Please let me clarify first, are you saying that your hard drive is fine as well as the other folders except that particular folder? If so, as what I have said earlier it may be corrupted. You can try this in your Windows laptop, download the "takeownership" from here: http://www.howtogeek...-menu-in-vista/. It's a reg file, "run" it then "righ click" the inaccessible folder and click "take ownership". If it doesn't work, save all your files from that Seagate to other storage and perform a CHKDSK on your Seagate.
