VLC Media Player question for Win 7

If this is the wrong section please move it and I apologize.

i use the VLC media player currently 2.2.4 Weatherwax. I have the same version installed on an XP machine also.

On the Win 7 machine when I minimize player to the task bar it shows the artist and song title. If I mouse over it I get a pop up box with song title/artist-vlc media player-rewind-pause-forward icons (buttons). I do not get the same (or any) popup window on the XP machine VLC. I have preferences ticked all the same on both media players. Is it because of the different OS?
