;) I thought we were on the track of making a screenshot of the registry? :tazz:

Did you verify it on
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

If there are no Explorer, what do you have then?

looks good...

Are you sure that in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies has no Explorer on it?

Note: Be sure to tell the difference between the HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

I need you to use a free diagnostic tool HiJackThis, then read the short tutorial HERE.

Post the Log Results here.

Did you install and run the Ad-Aware and Spybot, recommended from the page I gave you?

It is highly recommended that you install your HijackThis Tool in a safe location where you can easily find them. It is suggested you place them in C:\HJT, that way it could create backups necessary for future restore.

You need to post a log as a new topic in the Malware Removal Forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

You had a few malwares that needs to be corrected, however I can see that they dont have to do with your background problem. You need to post your HJT logs on that forum. On the mean time let us find a solution on your background problem.

gonna bump in here

ran into a nearlu identical problem yesterday and worked out a fix

download the attached file then extract the contents...doubleclick fixfirst.reg, agree to the merge, then doubleclick fixsecond.reg, and agree to the merge

does that fix it?
