Thanks to Jfcap, some of those similar problems were solved after i followed those steps closely, but for the last step, after i ran the active scan, i still found some.....

Hi Again,

Here we go you still have a few remnants of Smitfraud remaining so we will eliminate all possibilities.

Firstly please create a new folder on your C drive (for example C\HJT). Install HJT into that folder and run it from there. That way it can create backups if required.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Cleanup from here:
Cleanup. Do not run it yet.

I need you to copy all of the Killbox file paths below and paste them into Notepad.

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit. *In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
Unzip it to the desktop.

* Please run Killbox.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Open the Notepad file where you saved the file paths earlier and copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing CTRL + C:

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter.

Using Windows Explorer, delete the following, if found, (please do NOT try to find them by "search" because they will not show up that way)

FOLDERS to delete (in bold) if found:

C:\Program Files\Search Maid
C:\Program Files\Virtual Maid
C:\Windows\System32\Log Files
C:\Program Files\Security IGuard
C:\Program Files\PSGuard

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. This may take some time, so go grab a coffee. Once it finds the first issue tick the box for all. Post the log from the scan here for me.

Rescan with HJT and check the following entries if they still exist.

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

Now run cleanup to clear out temp files, junk etc.

Reboot into normal mode.

1.) Download The Hoster Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

2.) Right-Click HERE and Save As to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf on your desktop and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

4.) Run this online virus scan: Kaspersky[/url] - Save the results from the scan!

Post a new HiJackThis log along with the results from Ewido.

Hi there, fall asleep yesterday while running the ewido virus scan, now getting to the last step,

Your log is now clean enough to eat your dinner off.

The file found by ewido is just a cookie from a site you have visited. Cookies are harmless.

The files found by Kaspersky are in your system restore files. As your system is now clean, We will clear your system restore points. To do this follow these instructions

To delete all the restore points on your computer, disable and re-enable system restore on the system. Click Start, Control Panel, and then the System icon. Click on the System Restore tab in the dialog box, select the Turn off System Restore check box, and click Apply. Clear the check box again to re-enable System Restore and then click OK.

From your log, I see nothing in the ways of trojans, nor any evil entities attempting to possess your computer, except for Windows but it's too late for that one. :tazz:

Congratulations your log now appears to be clean.

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:

How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.

Prevention Programs:

Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

Other necessary Programs:

AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera and SlimBrowsers are good as well.

Somehow i still felt something wrong with my pc and so I ran pandora activescan just now and found this:

Your log is clean, Panda scan is locating a registry entry that cannot do anything as there is no program to run and is therefore no longer a danger to your system.
