Good Morning.

For the past three months I have been having problems with internet explorer.
everytime I click the icon for internet explorer my home page is being hi jacked by a search engin - (whom I cannot tell you).

I have purchased Spyware begone full registered versiion 6.65
I have downloaded Spyware guard
a freind tried to assist and downloaded Adware Se Personal

I run all these programs before attempting to get on the internet, I instruct the program to remove all infected files - scan again until no infected files are found . Shut down system and restart - and still when I attempt to get on the internet the same darn search engin pops up, ahhhhhhhh!

I am at a loss - I have read perhaps I should re format the hard drive - however I am computer literate to an extent. ( meaing I am stupid when it comes to this problem.) I feel so helpless.

My internet connection is dsl.

Hope someone can help me! PLEASE! I am about ready to throw this computer out of the window and go back to my HP-windows 98, cerliron processor. very slow but had no problems.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu).

Reboot your PC.
