I have installed Zonealarm Pro and I cannot (again) access the internet on my second PC which is on the same network. I have put computer name and IP address in trusted sites in Zonealarm, and until I shut down the computer I can access the internet on second computer. As soon as I try again having logged off I cant access internet again on second PC. I have switched zonealarm off and can access internet no problem so I know it is the firewall blocking access, but am at a loss as to know what to do next as of course I need the fire wall. Any more ideas please as to what might be the problem???

Reset the zonealarm database

1. Shut down the client from the system tray(Rightclick ZA icon choose shutdown)

2. access the c:\windows\internet logs folder

3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files.

4. Restart ZA

Thanks for the reply- I have shutdown zonealarm, deleted backup.rdb files, but I cannot delete the iamdb.rdb files as I get a message saying can't delete as the programme is being used by another user or is busy, and to shutdown any programmes that may be using it but I have no programmes open! So how can I delete this?

Try it in safe mode, and if that fails, hit control alt del, choose task manager, and shut down zone alarm related processes.

these, I think, are the two processes you need to shut down
