Was the log you posted made in safe mode?
I will need one made in normal mode.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F27196C4-5FB7-405D-94F4-320A5D32799A}: NameServer = 69.50.184.84,195.225.176.37

Reboot and post the new log.

You did check only the one with the CWS nameservers in it right ?

These belong to Romania Data Systems NOC and I guessed that is your provider:
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{DDA07E47-DA14-4C18-8C66-C9F7EDFE1D12}: NameServer = 213.157.176.3,213.157.176.2

The other belong to a hijacker.

You say you made that log in normal mode, but I see a startup for McAfee but I do not see any McAfee processes running. :tazz:

I'm sure i made the HJT scan in normal mode but i don't have any explanation for the missing mcafee running processes. Maybe it has a connection with the suspicious domain in the HJT log (the one with 69; the other one with 213 is my provider). Anyway, here's a new HJT log made in normal mode:

I think I have figured it out.

I'll need a few more data from you.
  • Download the Registry Search Tool.
  • Unzip the contents of RegSrch.zip to a convenient location.
  • Double-click on RegSrch.vbs.
  • If you have an anti-virus installed it might prompt you about a running script. Please ignore this warning and allow the script to run.
  • In the "Enter search string (case insensitive) and click OK..." box paste this string:
    • {F27196C4-5FB7-405D-94F4-320A5D32799A}
  • Click "OK" to search the registry for that string.
  • Wait for a few minutes while it completes the search.
  • Click "OK" to open the results in WordPad.
  • Copy and paste the entire results into your next post.
And I'd like to see a complete StartUpList please.

Put a checkmark in both boxes as described here:
http://home.planet.n...tml#Startuplist
Post that log as well.

Regards,

I will really need the complete Startuplist. (checkmarks in both boxes)

Also click Start > Run > copy&paste regedit.exe /e C:\parameters.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{F27196C4-5FB7-405D-94F4-320A5D32799A}" > OK

That will create the file:
C:\parameters.txt
Post the content of that file as well please.

I wasn't saying you were stupid. I have just never seen a XP computer before that wasn't running any services.

In fact, that is impossible.
But maybe something is hiding them.

Download and run CWShredder from:
http://www.intermute...r_download.html
Use the Fix button.

Then download and run http://greatis.com/unhackme/
Let me know if it finds something.

Copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as newservers.reg
Set filetype to "All files"

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{F27196C4-5FB7-405D-94F4-320A5D32799A}]
"NameServer"="213.157.176.3,213.157.176.2"

Doubleclick the file and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.
Post a new HijackThis log when you are done.

Hi again!
CWShredder came clean.
I installed Unhackme 2.5 but it won't run. Could my other antispyware tools block it? I run ewido, spyware blaster, win patrol, mcafee antispyware and ad-aware SE.
Should I perform the newservers.reg part?

Thanks for trying to help me.

Yes, the newservers.reg is worth a try anyway.

What exactly happens when you try to run unhackme?

When I double-click unhackme.exe the hour-glass appears for a few seconds then nothing happends not even after 5 min. If i open task manager unhackme.exe appears as a running process.
I performed the registry thing and made a new HJT log in normal mode:

Looks like the trick worked. :tazz:

Can you reboot and check if unhackme shows up in your systray?
Maybe you can open it from there.

And let me know if you still get the popups.

Regards,

I rebooted and in my systray appeared unhackme monitor. It says it checks every minute. But if I try launching the main program it happends the same thing like before.
The URLs are not present in my favorites for now, but i'm not sure it's over yet.
I have taken a look on greatis support forum and found out about people who had to format their hard drive after using the software. What do u think?
