Computer not booting from specified device

:tazz: i recently wiped my hard drive because it had 2 viruses on it. now, when i try to boot from a cd or floppy, the computer loads and stops at: "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM :" and i cant boot from a cd or floppy. i cant do anything but go into the BIOS and fiddle around.


i would greatly appreciate any information about this topic from any one.

hit the space bar when you see boot from atapi

if that does not work, what kind of motherboard?

it didnt work.

i also noticed that my hard drive working light is on on my case, even when nothing is happening.

my mother board:

SOYO SY-K7VMP2 [with a] VIA KM400 [chipset] [that is an] ATX MOTHERBOARD
