CPU usage svchost.exe running around 50%. I suspect it because it's attempting to download July's MS updates. I've been looking for a solution and wanted to run this by someone else for a second opinion:

Change download setting to "Never check for updates"

reboot

download and install June 2016 rollup for Windows SP1

reboot

change download setting to "Install updates"

Will this work and work without compromising my system, or is there a better solution?

Hi,

Yes it should work but before installing the June 2016 rollup you need to install the

April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
