i wanted to make a pc for my friend so i put a list together and wanted to know if was a good build for 1000$

the main games are bo3 gta fallout 4 but it also be for editing videos the moniter is a acer s240hl 24in

Thanks for the info.

You will have no problems playing those games at high setting using the DVI port on that monitor at 1920 x 1080 Res.

If you are using Pro editing software like Adobe PR, it will be a bit slow as an i7 and a multi disk setup is needed but, will be pretty good for more less demanding software.

 

The configuration is as balanced and powerful as your budget allows.

As you do not have a K CPU, and officially* no overclocking on any chipset bar the Z170, use the Stock heatsink/fan and if not satified with performance, gange it later.

*Asrock does have a BIOS upgrade that allows overclocking on non K CPUs.

 

RAM.   On the desktop, performance between 2133 and 2400 is negligible, so gone 2133 @ lower latency, 8Gb would be enough for gaming but kept the 16GB for editing. 

 

ENERMAX case is great, be aware, install HDDs in the lower spots, remove the HDD cage to install long GPU.   a number of people complain that even with lighting inside the case, hard to see through the side panel, to dark, > http://www.newegg.co...ID=3938566&SID=

 

Build for your consideration, just over budget, but did manage to fit in a SSD.

Been a while since we heard from you!!   Did you build the rig with the suggested parts? or another configuration?   How does it perform?   An update would be appreciated.
