Well, this is a new one on me! :upset:

I booted up the computer today, accessed one of my email accounts and found that I had literally hundreds of emails that I did not send yet they bounced back to me. The article I found here explained where they came from and that they are called backscatter.

My problem is that I had went through deleting the pages of backscatter emails and not long after the last were deleted I lost access t that account and have not been able to access it since. This is the message that is on the page:

HTTP ERROR 403

Problem accessing /service/extension/saml2acs. Reason:

The account cannot be accessed at this time.

Powered by Jetty://

When I refresh the page I get the following message:

HTTP ERROR 500

Problem accessing /service/extension/saml2acs. Reason:

The system cannot process your request at this time.

Powered by Jetty://

I am not sure what all this means without extensive research and thought maybe someone here was familiar with this and could save me some time.

Has my email client been taken offline or was my email account shut down due to some kind of attack that I know very little about?

Your account was disabled due to spam complaints probably.

Any way to change the password

Hi Joe,

I suppose I better contact my ISP since that is the email account I can not access.

Why me, is the question...

If you are reciving this error while accessing the Cable ONE web based email, the email address has been disabled due to spam complaints, or may have been compromised. For your security, please change the password and password reset information for the email address in question.

Hi Pieter,

Thank you so much for those links. I found out more from your blog article than I did posting on my Wildblue by Excede ISP's online support forum. I only looked at a couple of those original email headers and every one were "from" a different email address that were bounced back "to me". Unless I misunderstood, I am the receiver of deliberate bounces and I have no idea how to access my email account even after changing the password on my Excede/Wildblue account.

No. I still get that 403 error. :(

I have tried everything. My Excede/Wildblue client account has the same password as the email account since they are connected. There has to be something more to this than just changing the password. I think they disabled the account but won;t know for sure till I talk to them. I can't even send them an email since the reply would go to my wildblue email account. I thought that when I set the account up that I was asked to provide an alternate email account but I see none on my account profile.

I think they disabled the account but won;t know for sure till I talk to them

So they would try and reset the account.

May seem ridiculous but I'd still try a few things on your machine just for kicks an giggles and it may make you feel less powerless :)

Run Ccleaner.

Copy and paste the text in the code box below into Notepad.

@Echo off
pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
attrib -h -s -r hosts
echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
attrib +r +h +s hosts
popd
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset all
netsh winsock reset catalog
shutdown -r -t 1
del %0
Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Then
right-click flush.bat and select "Run as Administrator" your computer will reboot.

Never know what things you do that may get you back home !

I ran Ccleaner and the bat file. Now I don't get the errors but access stops at Redirecting... (as shown on the FF tab). I'll try another browser and see what happens.

I think it is there server. In Chrome I am able to get to the Inbox login screen but once I type in my email address and password I get the same Redirecting... message in the tab and at the bottom left it shows the following:

Waiting for login.wildblue.net

Then it redirects back to the Inbox login screen. More than I get in FF..

Why couldn't they have supplied that information in the beginning instead of a generic 403 error :(

I was just thinking the very same thing! For the price I pay they should have included an apology as well. I would have even settled for a free gigger!

Finally got my access back to my email account. I did have to contact customer support and they reset it for me, though I am still being bombarded with backscatter. On Monday after work I am to contact customer support again and they will direct me to the IT department so they can guide me on how to set up a block. That should be fun. Never had to do that before.. I love learning new things. Don't you? :D
