Odd the drive doesn't show up.  Probably something leftover that didn't get removed from the registry.

 

 

 

Since it cloned 99% the cloned drive might work.  You could try switching it out with the old drive and see if it will boot.

Shutdown the laptop.

 

Remove the battery

 

remove the screws that hold the cover over the hard drive.

 

remove any screws holding drive in place.

it's probably in a carrier.  Remove the four screws.  Note how the old drive sits in the carrier so you can put the new drive in the same way.

sometimes they have an adapter stuck on the drive.  If the old drive has a different connector, pry off the adapter and move it to the new drive.

 

Reassemble.and power it up.

Go into BIOS setup and verify it sees the new drive.

Save & Exit.

 

If it boots up and gets to the desktop, have it do a disk check.

A defrag would also be a good idea.

 

If it doesn't boot then put the old one back in and try another cloning program.

so, got new hard drive installed, but still seems to be a slow at times. I ran a defrag and clean. any other ideas ? Thanks!!
