Several basic questions, please, about Notepad and on HELP in general..

  1. Is Notepad built-in to my W10 desktop?

  2. Where is it? In what folder?

  3. How do I open Notepad to create a xxx.txt document?

  4. How could I have gotten answers to these kinds of questions myself, using the Help systems within W10? (In the past, with XP, I was able to get a lot of help from the HELP provided – but with W10 (which I assume is just as helpful) I have never learned how to use the HELP provided.)

Thanks. …. batpark

Use google.

As a general rule you can click on Start then type what you are looking for.For instance, notepad. WHne I do that I get

notepad.exe

Notepad

Notepad

at the top left of the Start menu. Click on any one of them to open notepad. If you right click on either Notepadf, you will see a Open file location whcih you can use to see where it resides.
