readers,

i recently had 2 viruses on my computer. so i wiped the hard drive, and now when i start up my computer, it loads all the way through until it says:

Verifying DMI pool data ...........
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM :

and it stops there. even more problomatic is the red light on my case that indicated whether the hard drive is working on something or not, and when it comes to the above message, it turns red and stays that way until i reboot my computer. when i try to put in the XP Installation cd, nothing happens, even when i restart my system.

CONCLUSION:
I have no operating system on my hard drive.
I have no data at all on my hard drive.
When the computer loads the message "Verifying DMI pool data ...........
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM :" it stops.
Putting a CD in will not change anything.
I have a SOYO SY-K7VMP2 w/ VIA KM400 Chipset and Pheonix Award BIOS.

Please ;) as i am very :tazz: and would apreciate any help ASAP.

When it says boot from CD ROM it should then say press any key to boot from CD. Load the XP CD then when you see Boot from ATAPI, start tapping the enter key

Is the boot priority set for CD ROM, if so and it still won't boot, you can get set up discs, provided you have a floppy drive on your PC and on another one you can use to download them

You should need these
