my girlfriend found active profiles on multiple dating and hookup sites.I have not signed up for any of them. I started to create an account before I met her, but never finalized it. how could this happen and how can I stop it

Exactly how would probably depend on each "hookup site". Some may allow you to remove yourself without too much trouble and others, not at all.
