• In my opinion, Microsoft has outdone their self  With Windows 10. The best and most secure operating system on the market today. Windows Defender is getting better, it now scans outside of the OS it scores high against new threats, and it is cloud-based,  it has automatic sample submission, not to mention it's built Into the OS.

I agree. I like Windows 10 a lot, but there are a few things I would change if possible. I would prefer the option to permit sample submission rather than have my computer tell Microsoft what I have on my system.

This is more or less true. You have to have a machine running Windows 7 or 8.x to get it for free. Most people were given 10 Home for free, not 10 Pro. You also had to upgrade within a year of release for it to be free. If you upgrade now, you have to pay.

What I did was a clean install of 8 (as I had an 8 Pro key) and did an in-place upgrade to Windows 10. Afterwards, I did a clean install of 10 (I had to activate it as an upgrade to get it for free). So my laptop is running good as new since I don't have any of the clutter I had accumulated over the last few months.

Have you tried the Insider builds? They are a little less stable but you get more features sooner. I haven't had too many issues (aside from one build not allowing me to shutdown using the start menu, this was fixed the next day). I've been wanting to try WIn10 on my Pi but I don't have a compatible keyboard for it, sadly enough. Funny enough, the keyboard works for every available distro but Win10 IoT
