Win 7 USB install hangs at blue Windows logo (Resolved).

I gave it one more try, using PLoP to make my computer boot from the USB in order to install Windows.  I got that blue Windows logo again (I assure you though haha, it is Windows 7 not 8 on th... Go to the full post »

Would the back up image of my HDD be usable to avoid the 20 hours of updating etc on a second hard drive for a separate computer?

You cannot use the back up image off one computer unless they are the exact same brand and model computer or in the case of a custom build the exact same spec of hardware is in place, Windows will not recognise the hardware on the second computer and consequently it will be unable to boot, remember the MB chipset drivers that you installed, they are what Windows would be trying to use to boot up the non compatible hardware of the second computer.
