how do I turn off the touchpad and make it stay that way? every time I turn it off and then go to another page it's back on.
it is hindering my typing cuz I keep touching it.

With some laptops you can disable touchpad by pressing function keys like Fn + F9 keys.

One of my laptops has a little On/Off toggle near the top right corner of the touchpad.
On another one, I simply cut a piece of card stock (thick paper) just the right size to fit down into the touchpad recess to cover it up.
(Whenever I can I use a mouse instead of a touchpad. Old habits ...).
