Apparently there is a second download required:

WebM files contain Vorbis audio, but Windows does not currently support Vorbis by default. An easy fix is to install the set of DirectShow filters provided by the Xiph Foundation. Download at Xiph.org

Have you tried VLC?  It is supposed to do webm without exra codecs.

I am trying to record the audio from the movie on a BOSS micro digital recorder, but it will only pickup signals emanating from windows media player, so playing it on VLC will not help me in this instance.

Here is what i have on my desktop as a result of downloading the zip file.  I have one folder that is called webmdshow-1.0.3.0 which contains the following:

-inc

-src

-AUTHORS.TXT

-install_webmdshow.exe.NSE.TXT

-makewebm.exe

-PATENTS.TXT

playwebm.exe

-NSE.TX-

-README.TXT

Then I have a folder marked webmdshow 1.03.0 which contains:

-inc

-src

-AUTHORS.TXT

-LICENSE.TXT

-PATENTS.TXT

-README.TXT

-INSTALL_webmshow.exe

-makewebm.exe

-playwebm.exe

In the webmdshow.1.03.0 folder  READMETXT refers to the following link but i got message that "http://code.google.c...downloads/list"no longer exists.

Where do  I go from here.

When you download the file it is a .zip so you have to save it (Hint in Chrome. after you save it you can right click on the download and select Show In Folder) then right click on it and Extract All. Extract. That should give you a new folder. webmdshow-1.0.3.0

In the folder is install_webmdshow.exe.  You right click on it and Run As Admin.
