Hi I've just installed the above version of skype onto my laptop.  I've adjusted what I can in tools for skype for the mic settings.  When I try to test the voice levels in skype echo the playback of my voice is very low this is just using the mic in the laptop not with headphones, it works ok with headphones. 

 

I'd prefer not to use headphones for the meetings I have as they get in the way.  How can I increase the mic so that it plays back louder or is received louder? Skype seems to be accessing Realtech high definition audio for output.

If the sound is Ok using headphones then it's likely that it's not a microphone problem.
I would be inclined to check carefully your speaker/audio output settings and make sure that the volume controls are correct...
