Hello :tazz: ,

Sorry for the delay in response as we have been very busy lately.

Since your original Hijack log is a few days old, could you please post a fresh Hijack This log for review.

If you have already gotten your machine fixed, please respond here and let us know.

Thanks

Hello Utsazn ;)

Seems you have some malware issues, let's get you fixed up.

download and install CleanUp! but do not run it yet.
*NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Now run Cleanup!

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check(if present):

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

(Please dont double space your hijack log, It makes it hard to read) :tazz:

Ok so mostly everything is good. I'm pretty sure i've been succesful of nail/aurora removal. I just think the whole process has removed too much actually. After rebooting from safemode my Windows appearance has switched back to classic, which really isnt the problem. The problem is that the XP appearance is gone. All my windows style are classic and i can't even choose the option to change it back. Is there a way for me reinstall that? I haven't ever really delt with a problem like this before. Anyways thanks again for the help with removing nail. That was way more annoying then not being able to an XP appearance anymore. well anyways heres my log.

Please do this Utsazn :tazz:

Open notepad, copy and paste next content (bold) in it:

dir C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt

Save this as look.bat ,choose to save as *all files and save it to your desktop.
Doubleclick on it and notepad will open with some text in it.
Copy and paste this in your next reply

ok Let's fix this.

download a copy of luna.msstyles here:
http://users.pandora...patchy/luna.zip

Unzip it and MOVE the luna.msstyles which is present in that folder you unzipped to next folder: C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna
Don't move it to anywhere else than that folder!

When moved it there, rightclick on your desktop > properties ... and look if Windows XPstyle is now present again. Choose apply and OK.

If not, reboot first, and try again to select Windows XPstyle

Thats it! Awesome thanks a bunch you've been great help. I also have another friend who needs to get rid of this nail thing. Should i just try the same process with her machine or should i just tell her to just post her hijackthis log file and wait for you someone to help again. But thanks again!

Just a couple of minor things left to finish your log

You can try the following without safemode if you wish
and if it doesnt work
Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Using windows explorer( right click start, left click explore)
Search for and delete these files and folders (If found)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\newmsrdk
C:\WINDOWS\qeyneh.exe

reboot and you should be good to go As far as your friend, I would recommend she post a hijack log because she may have other things that need to go besides the Aurora/nail issue ( this is usually the case) Just have her/him follow the steps you took about posting a Hijack log and someone will gladly take a look
