Sorry Alan missed your present CPU specs in your OP   With the new found information in hand, the i5-3470S for me is the best option rather than holding out for an i5-3570S that may... Go to the full post »

Always use Arctic products myself so good call already having some  :thumbsup:

You shouldn`t have any problems with Windows but rather than just backing up your data can I suggest that you create a back up image instead, Essexboy has kindly put a guide together here using Macrium Reflect (free) this is something that everyone should do, so much easier and cuts out the need for downloading a multitude of missing Windows and other updates.

Hi phillpower2, just finished about 15mins ago, so far so good it feels faster and it seems the graphics are better crisper when playing music videos. I didn't have to format the drive. regards.

Hi Alan,

Sorry for the delay, got visitors just arrived;

Is that the original RAM that was in your computer.

I will certainly give you a shout if I decide to look for a graphics card for the ENVY23.

No problem, your present graphics are shown to be being provided by the CPU in one of your screenshots, may be worth checking with Speccy what if any video upgrade options you have.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here,  this will provide us with information about your computer hardware.

Edit by phillpower2;

Any Speccy url for us Alan, we need to see if you have an MXM video chip that is soldered into the MB.
