I'm getting hammered by emails from someone that I can't get their address to block them. When I try to block them I can't. The site is IJR (Independent journal review) but I have tried to send them emails and gotten no where! They just keep filling my inbox with political newsletters. When trying to find their address this is what I get. The technical sender is different than the email address in 'From'. As 'From' can be faked, the technical sender is also displayed to understand who actually sent this email. What do I do to get them out of my inbox?

Thanks, Pearl

Hi Hazelcat,

Welcome to GeeksToGo! :)

Replying to unwanted emails may have a reverse effect. Is there an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email body? If so click on that to unsubscribe your email address.

Also, did you sign up to receive exclusive news and more on the Independent journal review site? If so, there should be a location on the site where you can uncheck a box to unsubscribe.

Check those options out and let me know if they are successful. Sometimes it can take 24 hrs or more for the nagging emails to stop.

Hi Donna,

I never signed up for them, they have no 'unsubscribe' button and I've sent them emails requesting that I be removed and they just keep sending them. Sometimes two and three or more a day. They have some sort of set up where The technical sender is different than the email address .

I know it seems petty to make such a fuss over one spam, but they're sending more and more and even side letters now wanting support etc. The email box they've infiltrated is an encrypted box, no less, that i have for one mail group only. It's all environmental and animal rights activists, Greenpeace etc. and they send petitions to sign and letters to be written to different political parties and so on, and these [bleep] spam emails look like they're one of theirs so I keep accidentally opening them and then I get a ways in and realize it's them again! as I said earlier, I realize this seems a petty problem but If I don't learn how to nip this in the butt now, I fear it will keep getting worse.

thank you for your time,
